Privacy Notice
The protection of your personal data matters to me. Personal data is any data by which you can be personally identified. Below, I explain what data I collect when you visit this website and what I use it for.
The most important point first: this website gets by with very little data processing. There are no third-party tracking services, no embedded content from external platforms and no advertising networks. Fonts are served from my own server, not from Google Fonts or the like.
This English version is a convenience translation. The German version is legally binding.
1. Controller
The controller for data processing on this website is:
Peter Pröll
Haselnußweg 26
53937 Schleiden
Phone: +49 (0)2444 6629000
Email: info@peterproell.com
Your privacy really matters to me, and I do what I can to safeguard it. Should you nonetheless have a concern or a reason to complain, I would be very grateful if you got in touch with me directly — I’ll take care of it personally. Independently of this, you are of course free to approach the competent supervisory authority at any time (see section 9).
2. Hosting
This website is operated by an external service provider (host). The personal data collected on this website is stored on the host’s servers. This concerns in particular IP addresses, contact enquiries, meta and communication data, and other data generated via a website.
The host is used for the purpose of performing the contract with my potential and existing customers (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and in the interest of the secure, fast and efficient provision of this online offering (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
My host:
Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Königsberger Straße 4–6, 32339 Espelkamp
A data processing agreement (DPA) has been concluded with the host. The host processes the data only insofar as this is necessary to fulfil its performance obligations and follows my instructions with regard to this data.
3. Server log files
The host automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits. These are:
- browser type and version
- operating system used
- referrer URL
- host name of the accessing computer
- time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources. It is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. I have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and the security of this website — for this, the server log files must be recorded.
4. Cookies
This website generally sets no cookies requiring consent. Neither tracking nor advertising cookies are used. Where technically necessary cookies are used (e.g. for session control of the content management system), this is done on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR for the technically flawless provision of the website. You can set your browser to reject cookies generally or in individual cases.
6. Contact form
If you send me an enquiry via the contact form, your details from the form, including the contact data you provide there, are stored in order to process the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. I do not pass on this data without your consent.
Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, where your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on my legitimate interest in effectively handling the enquiries addressed to me (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), where this was requested.
The data remains with me until you ask me to delete it, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for storage no longer applies (e.g. once your enquiry has been dealt with). Mandatory statutory provisions — in particular retention periods — remain unaffected.
7. Enquiry by email or phone
If you contact me by email or phone, I process your personal data (e.g. name, request, contact details) solely to handle your request. I do not pass on this data without your consent.
Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, where your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract; otherwise on the basis of my legitimate interest in handling it (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). The data remains with me until you ask for deletion, revoke your consent, or the purpose no longer applies; statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
8. Social media – LinkedIn
I maintain a publicly accessible profile on LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland). If you follow this profile or interact with it, LinkedIn processes the resulting data under its own responsibility in accordance with its own privacy policy: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
A mere link from this website to my LinkedIn profile does not trigger any data transfer to LinkedIn, as long as you do not click the link. LinkedIn’s privacy terms apply only once you access LinkedIn.
9. Your rights
Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to:
- information about your stored personal data, its origin, recipients and the purpose of processing (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- objection to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (e) or (f) GDPR, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR)
- withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future; the lawfulness of processing carried out until withdrawal remains unaffected
To exercise these rights, an informal message to the contact details given above under “Controller” is sufficient.
Right to lodge a complaint: you have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is:
Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf https://www.ldi.nrw.de
10. Storage period
Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this notice, your personal data remains with me until the purpose for processing no longer applies. In the event of a legitimate request for deletion or the withdrawal of consent, the data is deleted, provided there are no other legally permissible grounds for storage (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in that case, deletion takes place once those grounds cease to apply.
11. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar shows “https://” and by the padlock symbol in the browser bar.
